Prithvi Innovations added a new tangy flavour to the 5th Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival, which was held on 24th and 25th of June'2017 at Indira Gandhi Prathisthan, Gomti Nagar. A side event named 'Prithvi's Rasbhari Aamshala' was organised by us, in the Mango Festival,in which there were many activities like Mangotoons & Mango Colour Splash wherein a huge number of childrens participated and drew mango's with various emoticons and further explained the meaning of the emoticons they had drawn, Aamprashwali (quiz on mangoes) many families, childrens, and adults participated in the quiz and won themselves juicy mangoes, Aam Kavya wherein children partcipated in a poetry contest, and sang really nice poems on mangoes.

We had a great crowd on our stall, which gave us a chance to announce our self made Guthli Club, we explained them how instead of throwing away guthli's of mangoes we can plant them and see what it gives us, children and parents were really happy to know about this and ensured to give a try. Futher, we had a Questionnare prepared on food wastage which we randomly asked to group of students/childrens, many students told us that they give water to plants, check expiry dates of food items, help their mothers in checking refridgerators and shelves in case there are old food products in the kitchen, it was a great round with active participation.

Ms.Ankita and Mrs.Nisha from Prithvi's team sensitized all to minimize food wastage and later also conducted oath taking ceremony of not wasting food, wherein everyone present took a pledge to be Prithvi's Annapoornas ,i.e.Food Savers and Food Providers . They also explained them our concept of Annapoorna Kosh or portable Grain Bank or bags, which we had given to all the winners of the contests, that is to donate one handspoon of rice and pulses every week in the Annapoorna bags and give it back to us so that we can make Khichri and feed that to the poor. All in all the event saw a new beginning towards more responsible food consumption behaviour, reduced food wastage, rebirth of guthalis ,amidst lot of fun fare,creativity and meaningful action.
